Every Original Xbox that is still running in 2026 is running on borrowed time. These consoles left the factory between 2001 and 2005, and the parts that fail are predictable: the DVD drive belt turns to jelly, the fan bearing starts screaming, the power supply gives up, and the electrolytic capacitors on the motherboard dry out. This category holds the parts that bring a tired console back to life.
What you’ll find here
Parts is split into four groups so you don’t have to scroll through PSUs when you’re looking for a thumbstick:
Xbox Parts — service and upgrade parts that aren’t Microsoft originals: DVD drive belts,
40-pin 80-wire IDE cables, motherboard capacitor sets, Noctua fan adapters and 3D-printed spares.
Original Xbox Parts — genuine OEM components pulled from donor consoles: Delta power supplies,
original 70 mm fans, controller ports, DVD drives, brackets and housing screws.
Controller S Parts — replacement parts for the Controller S, starting with thumbsticks.Cables — AV, power and USB cabling.
How to pick the right part
Start with your motherboard revision. The Original Xbox shipped in revisions 1.0 through 1.6b, and not every part crosses over between them — the power supply connector in particular is not the same across all revisions. If you don’t know what you have, open your console’s serial sticker first and read Which Original Xbox revision do I have?. It takes five minutes and it prevents nearly every wrong order.
Then check the condition line on the product page. Most genuine parts here are OEM pulls: tested, working, and visually used. Where a part is new or 3D printed, the listing says so.
Order of repair
If you’re reviving a console that has been in a cupboard for a decade, work in this order:
Check the clock capacitor before you power it on. On revisions 1.0 through 1.5 it leaks and
eats the traces around it. Removing it is free and takes ten minutes — see the clock capacitor guide.
Then the power supply. A failing PSU can take other parts with it.Then the drive and the fan — the belt and the bearing are consumables at this age.Then the cosmetics — feet, screws, brackets.
