This is the small, cheap part that makes a lot of other jobs possible. If you are about to softmod, this is how the files get from your computer to the Xbox.

Installation
Difficulty: Easy. No tools, no soldering. Plug it into a USB-to-Xbox adapter, plug the adapter into a controller port, and it is available to the console. On a PC it mounts as a normal removable drive.
Compatibility
Works with all Original Xbox revisions, 1.0 through 1.6b, since it connects through the standard controller port. A USB-to-Xbox adapter is required and is not included — the Xbox controller port is electrically a USB port but uses a proprietary connector, so you need an adapter cable or PCB to bridge the two.
De grens die iedereen tegenkomt: 4 GB. De Xbox leest een USB-stick als geheugenkaart, en dat werkt alleen bij sticks van 4 GB of kleiner. Grotere sticks worden meestal gewoon genegeerd. Een SD-kaartje in een USB-lezer werkt opvallend vaak wel, en dat is een handige uitwijkmogelijkheid als een stick niet herkend wordt.
Je hebt hier geen mod voor nodig. Een standaard console met het originele dashboard herkent zo'n stick vanzelf: onder Memory verschijnt een geheugenkaartje naast de console. Is de stick nog niet in het formaat van de Xbox, dan wist het dashboard hem en meldt dat. Aansluiten vóór het aanzetten helpt bij twijfelgevallen.
