A used but working V1.4 Original Xbox motherboard, tested before shipping. This is the donor board for a console with a dead motherboard, or the starting point for a modding build where you want a revision that still plays nicely with hardware mods.
Read this before ordering: this board requires a recap. It works as tested, but the electrolytic capacitors are original and past their service life. Make sure you can do the soldering or have someone lined up who can.

Installation
Difficulty: Advanced. You need a T20 for the case, a T10 for the internal screws , plus a full soldering setup for the mandatory recap. Transplanting a board is an hour of careful work; the recap is the real time cost.
Note that the hard drive is locked to the motherboard it came from. Swapping boards means dealing with the HDD lock — softmod tools handle this, but plan for it.
Compatibility
This is a revision 1.4 board. It works with standard Original Xbox components — DVD drive, hard drive and power supply — and drops into a standard Xbox case. The 1.0–1.5 generation, which includes 1.4, can be TSOP-flashed; 1.6 and 1.6b cannot. This particular board has TSOP enabled, meaning the flash chip is write-enabled and ready for a BIOS flash without further board work. Softmodding works too if you would rather not flash anything.
Where the name "Xblade" comes from. It is Microsoft's internal code name for this PCB design, part number A38727-012, which covers revisions 1.2, 1.3 and 1.4. It appears in the title block of the engineering drawings for the board. It is not printed on the board itself, it is not a case or a colour, and it is not a supplier's name. The earlier 1.0 and 1.1 design had no code name; the later 1.6 design was called Tuscany.
Which power supply fits. This board takes the twenty-pin connector used from the 1.2 onwards. A 1.0 or 1.1 supply has a single row of twelve pins and will not connect at all. A supply from a 1.6 will physically plug in — the shape is the same — but it is wired differently, and connecting one is how boards get damaged. Match the supply to the board revision, not to the shape of the plug.

Frequently asked questions
Why does it need a recap if it works? Aged capacitors fail gradually. It boots today; the recap is what keeps it booting.
Can I flash a custom BIOS? Yes — 1.4 supports TSOP flashing and this board arrives with TSOP enabled.
Will my existing hard drive work with it? Not without unlocking or re-locking it to the new board. This is normal and well documented in softmod tooling.
Is the clock capacitor still on it? See the VERIFY note above. If it is present, remove it before powering up long-term.
